As I did a poll with comment box for last week's letter - many people wrote with great ideas and helpful comments for me. I'm going to post them here so you can get a look at them, and add to them if you wish! Thanks so much to all who submitted, this is going to be very helpful for Maite and I when we sit down to brainstorm a map for the upcoming newsletters.

The words used in TV and radio are much different than what we learn in class. Therefore I have problem following soap, movies and radio news, etc.

Well, I'm from Argentina and I am pleased of receiving your newsletter. I would like to learn about verbal phrases that your language usually uses to keep in touch with people in English. Like "make up" "broke up" etc. Thank you a lot for your help. Patricia. I hope you would get better soon...

More verb usage with audio would be most helpful. Audio is most important. I don't even pick up on English pronunciation, and it is my native language.

I know you've heard it before, but it would be so helpful if you had an English translation for the Spanish readings...or even a brief summary of what the reading is about. It would help those of us who are less advanced I think. Thanks for the great work. I only recently found you and I really have learned a lot!

I am still having problems using the correct prepositions and maybe a list of verbs that always take a direct object. I love the site and thank you so much for the work you do. I have ordered some things.

I really like your material - both content and tone.
On a technical note, something goes wrong when I "Click here to download pictures" in Outlook Express - I lose some of the text on the right side of the screen, e.g. in the Mexico City panel in newsletter 94. Don't let that stop you from continuing the good work though.

Ken from Linlithgow, Scotland.

Our business has hired several Hispanic-Americans. Do you have anything to learn Construction Workers Spanish? I would love something for my iPod.

Culture notes about the way of living in different Spanish countries. Many students do not even know what a TAPA is until they identify it with a half portion. Once I thought it was simply a free sampling of food.

The hardest part of learning Spanish has been understanding. Other things fall into place gradually, but most of us lack daily interaction with Spanish natives and find it difficult to know what is being said. Even familiar usages are not easily understood. So, whatever can simulate this would be valuable. I think the Yabla/LoMasTV site is very useful in this, for example. It provides video, full speed, native accents, slow speed possibility, and English/Spanish text.

Archived newsletters are a huge benefit to my studies. I'm a beginner, so I'm still working on verbs and vocabulary at the elementary level - so, any type of simple sentence construction is very helpful. Muchas Gracias.

I am interested in anything you have to offer as I am a teacher of high school students so I deal with all levels. I have ordered your Musical Spanish and am waiting anxiously for it. I can't wait to try it with my students.

I would like more basic medical Spanish information. I would also like tapes for basic conversational Spanish for a medical office. CD/tapes to play at home and/or in the car. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I like when you read Spanish, it sounds so beautiful! So continue with Martin Zalacain, it is far to advanced for me but I try to follow and understand. By the way who is Francia? - Lennart

I just started getting the newsletter so I'm sure that I've missed a lot, but my first lesson was about two boys fighting - not the kind of vocabulary or grammar that I use in my day to day life, fortunately.

I feel that I have gotten some helpful info from your letters, keep them coming. I would especially like to see more words used in sentences so I can learn the correct way to form sentences.
Thanks, Sandra
