My name is Maite and I was born in the city of Barcelona, a wonderful city on Mediterranean sea. I don’t know if you remember the oscar award winning movie "Gandhi", but I saw this movie when I was a little girl, and I fell so in love with the character and the story, that I decided that I wanted to be lawyer and do justice to the world. So now you know that I studied Law and that I am pretty idealistic.
My mother tongue is spanish but my contact with foreign languages and cultures started very early. Every summer since I can remember, we would take a road trip to a foreign country. I have been to France and Italy many times.
That explains my passion for literature, history of art, architecture and movies.
The best memories of my formative years are linked to the "Institute Français de Barcelone" on Moià street. Where I learned to speak french and to love black and white french movies.
Now I find myself in Anchorage, Alaska,
where I have been very lucky to meet Stacey Tipton and her son baby
Nicolas, thanks to this great tool called "craigslist". I have a
baby daughter of my own, Mariona, so it works perfect for us. I
help her with the newsletter to get the InstaSpanish website going
strong.
